End of the year thoughts... - 2009-12-08

Dear Friends,

For those who attended last weekend's Doctor's Gala, we know you had a great time celebrating a New Year's Countdown.  You also helped to honor Dr. Oscar Arnaud, who was the recipient of the Rafael Angulo Award for outstanding contribution to the establishment, nourishment and maturing of the PAMACFL.  For those who missed out, plan on joining us next year ("para que no le tengan que contar").

The pictures are now uploaded to the website.  You can download a decent copy of the picture straight from the site, or email me for a full-quality copy.

At the Gala we distributed the PAMACFL Directory, which was printed again after a few year's absence.  Having all of the members information in the website simplified this process tremendously and I encourage you all to go visit PAMACFL.ORG and always make sure your information is up-to-date.  We will be mailing a copy to the rest of the members soon.

This directory is useful; keep it somewhere safe and accessible at the office.  We are not just a bunch of people, but a community of  physicians, and as such we should stay in touch.  Do you need to send a patient to a Gastroenterologist?  Look it up in the directory and consider referring to your colleague and friend.  I believe that Hispanic-American physicians aren't just great doctors, but that we empathize more (and therefore take better care) of our patients.  We should be proud of our PAMACFL doctors and should take advantage of the tremendous expertise that resides within our (virtual) walls.

It has been a privilege to serve the PanAmerican Medical Association of Central Florida as your President for 2009.  Be ready to support our new President Thomas Segarra and his Executive Board.  Once again I want to thank the members of the Executive Board who tirelessly toiled to make each and every one of this year's activities a success.  And, once again, our spouses need to be thanked, for they are the true engine of this organization!

¡Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo!
